Legal Aid in Action:
In April, IHRD held three mobile legal aid clinics across Isiolo North and South. These clinics offer free legal advice to individuals facing land disputes, gender-based violence, or civil rights violations.
Many of the people we helped had never spoken to a lawyer before. One elderly woman had her land grabbed by relatives; another young man was detained unlawfully by local authorities.
“This was my first time getting legal help. I feel heard and protected,” said Halima from Kambi Garba.
Legal empowerment is a powerful tool for justice. And we’re just getting started.
